About Us

The NAS Rotherham Branch launched in October 2008 and is run on a voluntary basis by parents. We hold monthly meetings where parents/carers can meet other parents in a relaxed, non-judgmental atmosphere, benefit from mutual support and obtain information.

One of our projects is setting up and linking with support groups in schools. We can then pass information on and give them access to our resources. We have a lending library with many books and dvd's on relevant topics.

We endeavour to provide information about local services and signpost people to appropriate sources of advice.
Income to provide social activities , computer club and resources are raised by our local parents, private donations and applying for funding.

The Branch Officers are proactive in aiming to raise awareness of autism to support and encourage the development of autism services in Rotherham. We are working towards bringing seminars, speakers, activities and further information into the local area to make it more accessible for all. As a branch of the NAS we are also involved with and promote campaigns run by them.

Anyone wishing to offer their time to help in anyway would be very welcome.
