Autism Alert Card

The Autism Alert Card is a card that enables those that carry it to identify themselves to workers in emergency services as having an Autism Spectrum Disorder (This includes Autism and Asperger syndrome)

It has been designed by The National Autistic Society in Yorkshire with South Yorkshire Police to be recognised by their officers but can be used to show personnel from other emergency services such as fire officers and ambulance staff.

You may also find it useful to show to hospital staff or in other situations where you want to inform public service staff about your autism.

The National Autistic Society celebrates

its 50th Anniversary!

Happy Birthday NAS from all the Rotherham Branch volunteers and members!

Our very own Branch Treasurer Russell Wells travelled to 10 Downing Street

to celebrate the occasion!

Mark Lever, Chief Executive of The National Autistic Society, said:

Over the last 50 years the NAS has helped lead the way in providing services and campaigning for a better world for people living with autism. The progress the charity has made is due to our many supporters across the UK dedicating themselves to making a difference for autism every day. Our thanks go out to all of them.

The charity started in 1962 when a small group of friends met in north London, frustrated at the lack of understanding and help available for them and their children with autism. With more than 20,000 members, today the NAS is UK’s leading charity for people affected by autism.

We are proud of what we have achieved and we look forward to continue making a difference over the next 50 years.
